The UT27 is aimed squarely at the outdoor athlete. Compact and lightweight are a given and at a reasonable price point. Supplied with a 1500mAh battery this light has an impressive runtime which can be easily extended by carrying additional batteries. In an emergency or if the user prefers, standard AAA batteries can be used, the spooky glow-in-the-dark battery compartment helping the swap.
Dual main LED’s provide up to 800 Lumens of illumination when ON together in TURBO mode. Individually the LED’s provide different shades of white, a cool and a warm. Nice to have the choice but functional for trail running in all weathers as the warm white provides better penetration in foggy conditions.
The UT27 is very easy to operate with just two buttons, one for each colour. Press both at the same time for lockout when you don’t want the light switched ON accidently. A battery indicator glows blue on the bottom.
A straightforward headband keeps the unit in place when used. Some things are best kept simple. Slim with perforations to help with breathability, the band can be easily replaced when needed. The light angles to 90o in 4 steps.
